R.C.I.A. “Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
We extend a heartfelt invitation to anyone interested in joining the Catholic Church and our parish community.
Aim :
To experience and respond to the call of God for those who desire to become new members of our Catholic faith. We also welcome anyone who wants to update their religious knowledge, or learn more about the Church s Teachings.
Overview :
Our adult faith formation program, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), is held on a weekly basis beginning in the fall. This formation program is for unbaptized adults, non-Catholic Christian adults, and Catholic adults. Any person is welcome to consider beginning RCIA: the person who has had some experience with religion, and the person who has never had any formal formation in a faith tradition. All persons, baptized and not baptized are welcome.
The program provides preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of Christian Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist. For non-Catholic Christian adults, it eventually leads to formal reception into full communion of the Catholic Church. Also, it is important for any Catholic preparing for marriage in the Catholic Church to be fully initiated in the Catholic Faith. Often, the sacrament overlooked is Confirmation.
Job Description for anyone interested in joining our team in RCIA Ministry :
Weekday Team : Teacher, on a rotating basis ,for the weekly evening program.
Classes meet on a weekly basis every Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 PM
Rotation frequency about once per month 1 hours plus class preparation time.
